Job description

At Amazon, we are reinventing how to attract and hire exceptional talent at scale. The Attraction, Influence, and Marketing (AIM) organization is seeking a high-judgment, well-organized, self-motivated, and strategic program leader to own Amazon's Military marketing, partnerships, and programs. This role sits within Amazon's Global Talent Acquisition (GTA) organization and carries global scope with a primary focus on the United States. The Sr. Military Manager will build, scale, and optimize military talent attraction strategies across all Amazon business lines. This leader will serve as the enterprise-wide subject matter expert on military hiring, responsible for activating sponsorships, forging partnerships, developing programs, and creating sustainable pipelines of military-connected talent (veterans, active-duty service members, military spouses, and their families). The right candidate is a self-starter who rolls up their sleeves to do what needs to be done. Whether building an initiative from scratch, writing the proposal, finding the data, piloting a new approach, or scaling a proven program, this person operates with urgency and ownership. This leader is well-versed and well-connected in the military community, able to connect work directly to business outcomes, and skilled at influencing stakeholders internally and externally to ensure the right work moves forward.

Key job responsibilities
  • Build and own Amazon's global military talent attraction strategy, including marketing, partnerships, sponsorships, and community engagement programs.
  • Partner closely with Amazon's Global Military Affairs team to activate military sponsorships and partnerships for Talent Acquisition (TA).
  • Work directly with TA Directors across business lines to understand hiring needs, challenges, and priorities, then develop and deliver solutions that create military talent pipelines.
  • Develop and pilot new initiatives from concept through execution, including writing proposals, sourcing data, testing approaches, and iterating based on results.
  • Scale proven programs and oversee ongoing partnerships and sponsorships to maximize reach and hiring impact.
  • Build internal partner strategies by identifying teams across Amazon with aligned goals to amplify efforts and share resources.
  • Own military candidate attraction goals and report on funnel performance, candidate trends, and business outcomes through monthly, quarterly, and annual scorecards.
  • Forge direct relationships with state agencies, military installations, Transition Assistance Programs (TAP), and veteran service organizations to expand pipeline reach.
  • Create compelling content and messaging tailored to military audiences across digital platforms, events, and community outreach.
  • Organize and execute military-focused events including job fairs, workshops, hiring days, and informational sessions.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities in military hiring conversion and retention; champion programs and solutions to close gaps.
  • Travel domestically up to 25% of the year to attend events, visit military installations, and build relationships.
About the team

Amazon's Attraction, Influence, and Marketing organization is a dynamic team of marketing professionals dedicated to attracting and engaging top talent across Amazon's diverse business segments. AIM achieves high-volume hiring goals by delivering exceptional, multi-channel candidate experiences, engaging and hiring job seekers with maximum efficiency and precision. Leveraging paid digital advertising, owned channels, web experience, and local grassroots efforts, AIM delivers quality candidates at scale. Practicing transformational thinking empowered by leading-edge tech and tool development, this team constantly innovates new processes to increase marketing efficacy.

  • - Experience in written and verbal communication with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to executives and non-technical leaders
  • - Deep knowledge of the military community, including veteran and military spouse employment challenges, Transition Assistance Programs, and military culture.

  • - Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners
