Responsibilities:
The Test Lab. Technician is responsible for setting up, monitoring, and documenting component tests to support customer requirements, market research, and product qualification efforts. Working closely with Product Engineering teams within a dynamic manufacturing environment focused on oil seals for general industry and automotive applications, this role ensures accurate and reliable test data that informs product performance and development. Responsibilities include:
  • Setup, breakdown, monitor and maintain tests
  • Installing seals, shafts, bore plates, test heads and additional hardware as needed
  • Dialing in offsets, setting oil levels, shaft speeds, temperatures and pressures
  • Data logging/acquisition (DAQ) and oil sampling
  • Ladder Logic Programming of machines
  • Measuring seals and hardware
  • Installing additional test support systems (Pumps, fans, chambers, etc)
  • Calibrating of all the laboratory equipment
  • Ordering supplies and equipment
  • Maintaining a clean and efficient work are

Qualifications:
Special Requirements:
  • Time management is crucial; multiple tests will be running at any given time. There is strict timing on the start and completion of tests. Accurate setups are critical with little room for error. Timely and accurate communication.
  • Must be able to lift items up to 35 lbs, occasionally up to 65lbs; only short distances.

Ideal Qualifications:
  • General mechanical knowledge and understanding of oil seals (Radial shaft seals) and their function
  • Print & schematic reading experience
  • Self-motivated, organized and detail oriented
  • Familiar and proficient with all measuring tools needed
  • Basic knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
