About the Role:
Ivywood Academy in Snellville, GA is looking for a passionate and dedicated GAPREK Lead Teacher (T4/T5) to join our growing team of early childhood educators. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners while working in a supportive and nurturing environment. Responsibilities:
  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with GAPREK standards and guidelines
  • Foster a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment for all students
  • Observe, document, and assess student progress and development in accordance with T4/T5 requirements
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and guardians regarding student growth and milestones
  • Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to support whole-child development goals
  • Maintain accurate classroom records, portfolios, and required GAPREK documentation
  • Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides as needed
Requirements:
  • Must meet Georgia PREK (GAPREK) T4 or T5 teacher qualification requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
  • Prior experience in a lead teacher GA Pre-K setting
  • Strong knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate instructional strategies
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
  • Ability to maintain required certifications, background checks, and health screenings
  • Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with a genuine passion for early childhood education
