Job Description

Summary:

The Technology and Automation Operations (TAO) group is looking for an individual to support the Development Sciences organization, containing over 400 people, with implementations of scientific IT solutions. This position will require a unique blend of IT skills and scientific knowledge in order to help deliver and support high quality systems that provides value to the users.

Primary Responsibilities:

Work as a technical liaison between end users, IT, and software vendors to define business processes and user requirements

Work closely with the project team to ensure software design remains on track and minimize scope creep

Assist project team with rollout strategy and implementation

Develop tools for end users using R, Spotfire, and KNIME

Develop training materials for multiple user roles

Note: Since this is a user-facing role, we are not looking for a candidate who is primarily experienced in back-end IT system architecture.

Skills:

Experience with using, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Sharepoint based applications

3-5 years' experience with software system implementations (preferably to a large user base) and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

Excellent communication and collaboration skills to interface with a diverse group of stakeholders

Ability to learn new software tools and processes quickly

Basic knowledge of science and drug development process

High attention to detail and strong analytical/problem solving skills

Desired Skills:

Proficiency and experience with Spotfire, R, and Knime

Experience with developing training materials

Ability to author complex information in a clear and concise manner

Experience with software testing practices and execution (SQA)

Education:

BS/BA degree in information systems, computer science or scientific discipline
