Markon is seeking a Systems Engineer 1 to support the deployment, administration, and sustainment of mission-critical infrastructure and network environments for the Fort Meade Customer. This role is responsible for managing server, network, storage, and Linux-based systems while supporting mission hosting environments, security compliance, and operational availability. The position requires hands-on experience with enterprise hardware, network administration, automation, and system maintenance in complex technical environments.
Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, administer, and maintain enterprise server and network infrastructure
  • Manage and support Dell servers, Cisco Nexus switches, and related hardware components
  • Configure and maintain network services, routing, DNS, NTP, and mission hosting environments
  • Develop and maintain IP tables, RPM packages, and system configurations
  • Create and maintain automation scripts using Bash and Python
  • Configure, administer, and maintain NAS storage arrays and associated storage solutions
  • Support multiple network environments and ensure system availability and performance
  • Implement security updates, vulnerability remediation, and IAVM compliance requirements
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and operating system issues
  • Support system deployments, upgrades, testing, and technology refresh initiatives
  • Maintain system documentation, configuration baselines, and operational procedures
  • Utilize Jira to track tasks, issues, and project activities

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • TS/SCI w/ active Polygraph with this Customer
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field required
  • 7+ years of experience supporting systems administration, infrastructure, or network operations environments
  • Experience setting up and managing Dell servers and Cisco Nexus switches required
  • Experience with network hardware, configuration management, routing, and mission hosting environments
  • Experience administering DNS and NTP services
  • Experience developing and maintaining IP tables and RPM packages
  • Experience with Bash shell scripting and Python automation
  • Experience setting up and maintaining NAS storage arrays
  • Experience supporting and maintaining multiple network environments
  • Experience implementing and maintaining IAVM compliance requirements
  • Experience using Jira for issue tracking and project coordination
  • Red Hat Linux certification required
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic mission environment

Salary Range
USD $140,000.00 - USD $150,000.00 /Yr.
