Job Summary:
Support and improve business processes through the development and support of software applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Documents functional requirements, analyzes requirements in the context of software and processes, develops and executes test plans, assists with and document business process improvement efforts, and troubleshoots production issues.
2. Serves as project lead for various projects.
3. Assists in development of software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation.
4. Uses a variety of programming skills and languages to create new applications or to support and maintain existing applications.
5. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders in conceptualizing, developing and maintaining effective business solutions.
6. Manages and assesses SIS/ERP effectiveness by functional area assigned; identifies needs and develop horizontal upgrade, and support plans.
7. Performs data validation and quality control checks to maximize operational performance.
8. Develops and maintains design, configuration, and troubleshooting documentation.
9. Works across various platforms that integrate with the College's ERP systems and understands the governance, security and integration development.
10. Serves as the primary or secondary business partner and programming support for one or more of these technologies/systems:
            a. ERP/SIS (primary support)
            b. Reporting/Data Analytics (primary support)
            c. Document Imaging (secondary support)
            d. Web application development (secondary support)
            e. CRM support (secondary support)
11. Trains and assists users with the operation of software systems and adoption of new functionality.
12. Maintains regular and effective communication with the user community, colleagues within the organization unit, and supervisors.
13. Researches and keeps well informed on rapid development tools and emerging technologies.
14. Maintains continuous professional growth and development through a series of actions, including reading technical, professional, and marketing literature, attending workshops, seminars and demonstrations, collaborating with vendors, manufacturers, and colleagues, and engaging in hands-on experiences with a variety of technologies.
15. Provides informed recommendations for enhancements and improvements at Rock Valley College based on new and emerging technologies.
16. Perform other job-related duties as assigned by the Director, Enterprise Systems.

7. Ability and willingness to complete several concurrent tasks in a fast-paced, detail-oriented, multi-tasking environment.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor' Degree in Information Technology or other related technical discipline or Associates Degree in Information Technology or other related technical discipline and 5 years of experience in enterprise level or large-scale complex database programming environment required, in lieu of bachelor's degree. Other relevant experience will also be considered.
1. Successful applicants will have 3-4 years' experience in at least some of the technologies below, or other relevant technologies:
            a. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP): Experience with ERP systems programming. Administrative and Student Information Systems (i.e. Ellucian [Colleague, Banner], PeopleSoft, Jenzabar) for higher education preferred but not required.
            b. Programming and Support: SQL/PostgreSQL, Microsoft Access, any 4GL, ETHOS Integration, GitHub, JavaScript, C#, Python (EastAPI), etc.
2. Related professional certifications are desirable.
3. Experience working in an educational setting is preferred but not required
Work Environment
This position is Hybrid - This is a remote-based position; however, it requires regular and occasional on-site attendance at our main campus in Rockford, IL. Employees must live within a commutable distance to attend planned events, such as scheduled team meetings, semi-annual professional development, or specific project days.
