We’re looking for a Field Layout Engineer who is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and comfortable working hands-on in the field. If you have a strong understanding of construction layout and surveying, enjoy solving problems in real time, and take pride in accuracy, this could be a great opportunity to grow with Martin Concrete.

As a Field Layout Engineer, you’ll play an important role in ensuring our projects are built accurately and according to plans and specifications. You’ll work directly with Foremen, Superintendents, project teams, and field crews to establish and maintain precise layout and survey controls throughout the project.

This is a hands-on, field-based position where your technical expertise will directly impact the quality, efficiency, and success of our construction projects.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform precise site layoutand manageconstruction planning to ensure project accuracy.
  • Execute and maintainhorizontal and vertical survey controlusing advanced tools such as GPS, levels, and total stations.
  • Monitor and maintainproject safetyandquality standardsat all times.
  • Organize and oversee project documentation, includessurvey notes, correspondence, submittals, and RFIs.
  • Deliver weeklyas-built reportson all completed work.
  • Collaborate with the site Foreman/Superintendent to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Assist informwork and falsework designif qualifications align.
  • Maintain all issued survey equipment and electronics.

Physical & Field Requirements

This is an active, field-based position that requires regular presence on construction jobsites. The Field Layout Engineer must be comfortable working outdoors and navigating active construction environments.

The role regularly requires:

  • Walking and standing for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Moving throughout active construction sites and navigating uneven terrain.
  • Climbing stairs, ladders, and accessing elevated areas of construction.
  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, and rain.
  • Working at heights and around active construction equipment.
  • Lifting and carrying survey equipment, materials, and tools weighing 50 pounds or more as needed.
  • Wearing required jobsite PPE, including hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, and work boots.
Travel & Work Schedule

This is a full-time, on-site position requiring regular travel to Martin Concrete project locations across the United States.
