Job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Industrial & Lean Engineer to drive operational excellence, capacity planning, and continuous improvement across our manufacturing facilities. In this strategic role, you will decompose high-level corporate objectives into actionable KPIs, oversee capital expenditure (CAPEX) budgets, and lead multi-faceted lean manufacturing initiatives—from initial plant construction and digital integration to value stream mapping and layout optimization.

As a key liaison between local operations and global headquarters, you will evaluate technology upgrades, mentor local engineering talent, and ensure smooth cross-border collaboration with engineering teams in China.

 Key Responsibilities
  • Formulate and implement comprehensive KPI targets aligned with departmental strategy and broader business goals.

  • Manage industrial engineering operations for new factory site construction, capacity expansions, equipment utilization, and digital transformation projects.

  • Optimize early- and late-stage manufacturing processes by implementing Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED) changeover tactics, capacity improvements, and headcount efficiency.

  • Design and execute the facility’s lean operation system, conducting Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to identify waste and implement on-site continuous improvement projects.

  • Compile, organize, and manage the annual CAPEX budget, overseeing monthly expenditure reporting and project funding allocations.

  • Spearhead strategic innovation initiatives focusing on plant layout optimization, material handling/logistics flow, cost reduction, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) optimization.

  • Track individual and team project milestones, coordinating cross-functional resources to overcome operational bottlenecks.

  • Conduct technical training and skills development for junior engineers, creating standardized training manuals and instructional documentation.

  • Liaise directly with global headquarters to stay aligned on process equipment upgrades, evaluating the necessity and feasibility of local implementation.

 Qualifications & Required Skills
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Automation, Management Science, or a related field.

  • Experience: 5+ years of dedicated industrial engineering experience, with a strong preference for candidates with prior exposure to new factory construction or greenfield equipment development.

  • Lean Expertise: Proficient in industrial engineering methodologies, human factors engineering, lean manufacturing principles, VSM, SMED, 5S, and structured project management.

  • Technical Tech Stack: Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD), Microsoft Excel (advanced data analysis), PowerPoint, and standard corporate productivity tools.

  • Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in both English and Mandarin is required due to daily technical communication, documentation, and collaboration with China-based engineering teams and headquarters.

 Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Attendance: Regular, predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this role.

  • Mobility: Ability to navigate safely throughout office spaces, active manufacturing floors, and construction areas, including walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs or ladders.

  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry operational materials weighing up to 25–50 pounds, with occasional heavier lifting as required.

  • Travel: Willingness to travel between local job sites or regional facilities as business requirements dictate.
