Job Title: Senior Associate Intergration/Test Engineer

Job Desciption:

The Senior Associate, Integration/Test Engineer is responsible for supporting integration, test, and calibration activities on complex Avionics/Navigation/Flight control systems and subsystems on various platforms.

 

Essential Functions:

Conduct subsystem pre-operational checks in accordance with approved engineering documentation and test procedures.

Configure and prepare LRUs and subsystem components for single-thread and multi-thread interface testing and operation.

Execute subsystem- and system-level Ground Test Plans in support of integration, verification, and validation activities.

Troubleshoot system and subsystem discrepancies to the component level and support timely fault isolation and resolution.

Identify LRU failures and perform or coordinate required repair, replacement, and retest activities.

Detect and document hardware, software, and firmware anomalies, and recommend corrective actions through applicable enterprise systems and engineering processes.

Support EMI/TEMPEST testing of airborne subsystems and associated integration activities.

Support system integration efforts associated with hardware and software development.

Perform aircraft pre-flight checks and related activities to ensure system and subsystem readiness for flight operations.

Operate a wide range of electronic test equipment to support troubleshooting, verification, and performance testing, including:

IFR4000 Test Set

Various pitot static test sets

IFF/TCAS Transponder Test Set

TACAN Test Set

LAN test devices

TDRs

Digital multimeters

Oscilloscopes

Frequency counters

Function generators/AWGs

Signal generators

Spectrum analyzers

Power/watt meters

Fiber optic test equipment

Utilize COTS and organic software applications to execute tests, analyze results, and document system performance.

Support in-flight test activities and may serve as an onboard observer on airborne platforms, as required.

Prepare, review, and maintain engineering documentation, test records, and related technical data.

Provide technical input to design changes intended to improve mission effectiveness, equipment reliability, maintainability, and operational efficiency.

Coordinate regularly with engineering, manufacturing, quality, field support, and customer organizations to resolve technical issues and support program execution.

Qualifications:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility

Requires practical knowledge of job area. Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.

Thorough knowledge of operational procedures, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance techniques for aircraft Avionic systems and subsystems

Understanding of basic avionics equipment and theory

Ability to read and interpret aircraft wiring diagrams and follow aircraft Technical Orders (TOs)

Strong working knowledge of Avionics test equipment, including IFR4000, TACAN test sets, Pitot Static test sets, and IFF/TCAS transponder test sets

Familiarity with industry-standard electronic test equipment, COTS hardware, Linux/Windows applications, and other COTS software tools

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, verbal, and written communication skills

Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment with changing schedules and potential short-notice shift extensions

Ability to support multiple shifts and varying work schedules

Ability to obtain and maintain an FAA Class III flight physical qualification

Willingness to travel up to 10% CONUS and OCONUS

Preferred Additional Skills:

6-8 years of experience maintaining Avionics, NAV, Flight Control systems, and electrical subsystems on military airborne and/or ground-based platforms

Strong applicable test environment experience.

Flexibility with work schedules in a dynamic work environment.

Previous experience on G550 or similar platforms.

Experience with Cryptographic units and loading devices.

Strong work ethic and team-oriented mentality: Maintaining a sense of urgency to ensure obligations are met while achieving milestones in a team-based, technical environment.
