Requirements

As a Project Engineer (internally titled Systems Integration Engineer), you will be at the center of Exotec's most complex client deployments, bringing together robotics, software, and warehouse operations into seamless automated solutions. Working directly with clients and cross-functional teams, you will lead integration efforts from design through testing and go-live, helping shape the future of warehouse automation while building deep technical and leadership expertise.

  • Serve as the primary technical interface between Exotec and the client throughout solution deployment, leading technical discussions and driving alignment across all stakeholders.
  • Lead the integration of Exotec solutions into client warehouse environments, ensuring software, automation equipment, and operational processes are delivered as a cohesive solution.
  • Facilitate discussions with client WMS, IT, Operations, and Engineering teams to gather requirements, resolve technical challenges, and support project execution.
  • Define, coordinate, and execute testing strategies, including internal validation, user acceptance testing (UAT), and onsite testing activities.
  • Drive software integration activities involving WMS, WCS, APIs, custom developments, and third-party systems.
  • Partner closely with Product, Software, Hardware, Design, Project Management, and Operations teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Translate customer business and operational requirements into clear technical specifications and actionable development deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain integration documentation, test plans, system specifications, and client-facing technical documentation.
  • Identify technical, operational, and integration risks early, proactively driving mitigation plans and corrective actions.
  • Lead client-facing reviews, workshops, demonstrations, and testing sessions while maintaining a high standard of technical credibility and professionalism.
  • Support commissioning and go-live activities, providing onsite leadership during critical project phases.
  • Ensure compliance with Exotec engineering standards, deployment processes, and quality expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Mentor peers and contribute to the continuous improvement of integration methodologies, testing processes, and deployment processes.
Required Experience, Skills, & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in systems integration, software integration, solutions engineering, technical project delivery, or a similar customer-facing technical role
  • Experience within warehouse automation, material handling, intralogistics, distribution, fulfillment, supply chain, or related industries
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or adjacent field of study
  • Strong understanding of WMS and system integration concepts
  • Experience leading technical discussions with customers and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Knowledge of software development processes and testing methodologies
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to travel as required during deployment, testing, and go-live phases

Preferred Experience, Skills, & Qualifications:

  • Experience working for a warehouse automation integrator or material handling solutions provider
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, APIs, web technologies, or similar integration tools
  • Product Owner experience or familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Scrum Product Owner and/or PMP certification
