Job description

The Development Manager is responsible for executing fundraising, donor engagement, communications, and grant activities that support WHAM’s development strategy. This role manages day-to-day fundraising operations, including annual giving, events, donor stewardship, grant writing, and database management, in close collaboration with the Director of Development and Communications. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and relationship-driven professional who can manage multiple priorities, support revenue growth, and contribute to a strong donor and community engagement experience.   Education/Experience Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, or related field preferred.

CFRE or pursuit of certification preferred. Minimum three (3) years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, or related field. Experience with donor relations, events, and grant writing required.

Experience using donor database systems preferred. Skills/Abilities Strong written, verbal communication skills, including donor correspondence and grant writing. Ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, volunteers, and community partners. Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Experience planning and executing fundraising events. Proficiency in donor database systems and reporting tools. Ability to analyze fundraising data and generate reports.

Collaborative team player with strong attention to detail. Writing samples will be required for all final candidates.
