Job description

Overview:

As a Systems Design Engineer at HighRes Biosolutions, you will be heavily involved with all elements of our custom systems product life cycle. You’ll work closely with the sales and applications team to turn a customer’s needs into an automated solution. Additionally, you’ll work closely with the operations team to turn your designs into fully functional systems. The systems you design will be used by top pharmaceutical and biotech companies around the world to help improve human health.  The qualified candidate will have strong design capabilities with SolidWorks. A product development background for lab, medical or consumer products is beneficial.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Design custom robotic systems to meet customer requirements.
  • Work with Electrical Engineers and Robotics Automation Engineers to ensure customer requirements are met from all disciplines of the project.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineering/ Build Technicians to solve build and design issues on the production floor.
  • Interact with customers and vendors as needed.
  • Review designs for robotic systems with the project team.
  • Organize Bill-of-Materials (BOMs).
  • Prepare detail drawings for manufacturing and assembly of purchased systems.
  • Write and implement Engineering Change Orders throughout the lifecycle of a project.

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 0-2 years of work experience
  • SolidWorks experience (minimum 2023 preferred).
  • Experience with PLM and ERP systems a plus.
  • Experience designing for manufacturability and cost reduction a plus.
  • Ability to produce high quality presentation materials.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once.
  • Requires high attention to detail and organization to identify potential risks and get ahead of potential problems for smooth project execution.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to overcome unforeseen challenges quickly and effectively.
  • Work effectively as team member and individually.
