To thrive as a System Administrator, you need a solid understanding of computer networks, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and troubleshooting, often backed by a degree in IT or related certifications like CompTIA Network+ or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate. Familiarity with tools such as Active Directory, virtualization platforms, backup solutions, and monitoring systems is typically required.
