Job Summary:
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Systems Support Specialist LEAD to provide onsite and on-call support for mission systems at the Pentagon. The role involves troubleshooting, user support, and ensuring system availability in a TS/SCI environment.
Responsibilities:
• Provide onsite and on call system administration and operational support for mission systems located at the Pentagon.
• Perform troubleshooting and corrective actions for hardware, software, network, and system performance issues.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance, including applying patches, updates, and configuration changes.
• Provide user support and training, resolving access and usage issues and documenting recurring problems.
• Collect and maintain operational logs, incident and deficiency reports, and checklists per program and security standards.
• Execute incident response, including triage, escalation, coordination, and closure documentation.
• Perform backup and restore operations to ensure data protection and continuity of operations.
• Support system administration and database related activities as needed for mission systems.
• Ensure procedural compliance and that all records and reports meet operational, security, and audit requirements.
• Act as a technical resource for performance optimization, data integrity, and status reporting to management.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in systems or network administration, systems support, or similar technical roles in secure, mission critical (DoD or similar) environments.
• Strong leadership capabilities in directing project/task execution across domains such as maintenance, integration, and data management.
• Experience allocating resources, monitoring progress, and ensuring quality deliverables.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve operational issues and provide precise, timely status updates to management and stakeholders.
• Experience managing schedules and aligning tasks with program objectives to support integrated operations across functional domains.
• Strong documentation skills for logs, incident reports, and technical records.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field, OR Equivalent DoD/Military training in systems administration, network operations, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum: Active TS/SCI clearance required to start.
• Holds a DoD 8140 qualifying certification; one or more of the following (or equivalent) is required/preferred: – Cloud+ – GSEC – Security+ – SSCP
