Join us as full-time Testing & Commissioning (T&C) Engineer, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Purpose

The Testing & Commissioning (T&C) Engineer is responsible for overseeing installation supervision and executing commissioning activities for railway signaling subsystems (e.g., Interlocking [IXL], Automatic Train Control [ATC], Data Communication Systems [DCS], etc.). The role ensures systems are delivered successfully and handed over to the customer or warranty phase in full compliance with project requirements.

Governance & Process Leadership

•    Deploy and ensure strict adherence to Alstom Installation and T&C processes and standards across all site activities.
•    Manage internal (Engineering, Installation) and external (Customer, Partners, Third Parties) technical interfaces to ensure smooth execution of T&C activities.
•    Promote a culture of process discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement.
•    Capture, formalize, and share Return on Experience (REX), contributing to process, tool, and reference library improvements.
•    Identify risks, inefficiencies, and process gaps, and propose corrective and improvement actions.

System Testing & Commissioning

  • Perform and coordinate field testing and commissioning activities for CBTC systems.
  • Validate proper integration and functionality of signaling, train control, and station systems.
  • Execute key testing phases: 
    •    Post Installation Check-Out (PICO)
    •    Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
    •    System Integration Testing (SIT)
  • Apply a structured and systematic testing methodology, aligned with project milestones.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve issues through troubleshooting, log analysis, and root cause analysis.
  • Record and manage Non-Conformities (NCRs) and defects with full traceability until closure.
  • Ensure proper reporting and evidence collection to support validation and certification activities.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Prepare, review, and maintain commissioning plans, test procedures, and test reports.
  • Ensure all T&C activities are performed in compliance with: 
    •    Contractual requirements
    •    Technical specifications
    •    Alstom standards and processes.
  • Verify system compliance with functional, performance, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date method statements and procedures for installation and commissioning scope. 
  • Support definition and execution of cut-over strategies (especially for brownfield projects).

Coordination & Handover

  • Collaborate with Design, Installation, and Operations teams to ensure site readiness for commissioning activities.
  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to support smooth execution.
  • Prepare and maintain 4-week lookahead plans, aligned with project schedule and priorities.
  • Participate in site coordination and access planning meetings, ensuring activity alignment with site constraints.
  • Facilitate training and handover to Operations & Maintenance teams.
  • Provide regular progress updates, KPI tracking, and reporting, identifying and resolving technical or operational blockers.

Safety, Quality & Project Performance (QCD)

•  Ensure strict compliance with EHS requirements, leading hazard identification and mitigation for site activities. 
•  Contribute to achieving project Quality, Cost, Delivery objectives through efficient execution and proactive risk management. 
•  Ensure implementation of a zero-incident and zero-defect approach in all T&C activities. 
•  Support Safety and Quality teams with accurate test reports and deviation analysis.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in railway signaling or communication systems testing & commissioning
  • Experience in CBTC, ERTMS, or similar rail systems
  • Experience in site execution, system integration testing, and troubleshooting

Salary Range
