Role Overview

A leading North American consumer healthcare organization is seeking an accomplished Senior Director of Information Technology to lead its enterprise business applications landscape within a highly regulated manufacturing environment.

This is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving the vision, governance, execution, and continuous optimization of enterprise technology platforms that support manufacturing, quality, finance, and corporate operations. The role blends hands-on technology leadership with executive-level strategic influence and plays a critical part in ensuring systems are secure, compliant, scalable, and aligned with long-term business objectives.


Position Summary

The Senior Director of Information Technology will oversee all enterprise applications and related initiatives to ensure operational excellence across the organization. This leader will partner closely with executive stakeholders to align technology investments with regulatory requirements, operational efficiency, and business growth.

The role requires deep experience in manufacturing environments, strong knowledge of enterprise systems, and the ability to lead complex technology programs in regulated industries.


Key ResponsibilitiesEnterprise Applications & Technology Strategy
  • Translate complex business requirements into scalable and sustainable technology solutions

  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of enterprise software platforms

  • Establish and govern enterprise application standards to ensure consistency, security, and maintainability

  • Review and approve business requirements prior to solution design

  • Continuously assess organizational information needs and evolve systems accordingly


Core Systems & Operational Excellence
  • Oversee ongoing support and performance of critical enterprise systems, including:

    • SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products in Data Processing)

    • EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) platforms, including IBM Sterling

  • Ensure systems are properly configured, documented, backed up, and supported according to defined standards

  • Ensure end users are adequately trained and able to maximize system capabilities


Innovation, Automation & Advanced Analytics
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement across enterprise platforms

  • Promote automation, self-service technologies, and data-driven decision making

  • Explore and enable advanced analytics, AI/ML, and digital transformation initiatives


Security, Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure enterprise systems meet security, documentation, and disaster recovery requirements

  • Partner closely with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) on cybersecurity and risk mitigation

  • Support manufacturing operations governed by FDA regulations

  • Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) requirements where applicable


Leadership & Delivery Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop internal technology teams and external partners

  • Set performance objectives, delegate responsibilities, and manage outcomes

  • Oversee application release planning, testing, and deployment schedules

  • Review system designs, development work, and test strategies

  • Provide regular progress updates and reporting to senior leadership


Financial & Vendor Management
  • Manage departmental budgets and ensure cost-effective technology investments

  • Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and service performance


Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as the primary liaison between business, operations, and IT teams

  • Represent the IT function in cross-functional and executive stakeholder forums

  • Build strong partnerships to ensure alignment and successful delivery


Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline
    (Master’s degree preferred)

  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience in information technology leadership roles

  • Extensive experience supporting manufacturing environments within regulated industries

  • Strong understanding of enterprise applications, system integrations, and operational technologies

  • Proven ability to lead large, cross-functional teams and complex initiatives

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align technology with organizational strategy

  • Experience partnering with finance, audit, compliance, and executive leadership teams

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership capabilities
