HOURS: Full-Time (37.50 hours per week)

PAY GRADE: 4 (49,650.00)

LOCATION:  Louis Stokes Wing (Outreach & Programming Services)

JOB SUMMARY: The Community Engagement and Sustainability Project Coordinator provides essential support to the Community Engagement and Sustainability Manager at Cleveland Public Library (CPL). This role helps manage the library's expanding satellite locations, implement sustainability initiatives, and deliver high-quality programming throughout the Cleveland community. The position requires strong organizational skills, program coordination experience, and a passion for community engagement and environmental sustainability. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Associate’s degree preferred. 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in project coordination, program management, or similar role.
  • Experience in community engagement, sustainability initiatives, or public programming preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  •  Proficiency in project management tools and office software.
  • Knowledge of sustainability best practices and environmental literacy concepts.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and flexibility.
  • Experience with data collection and reporting.
  • Budget management experience preferred.
  •  Proficiency in MS Office required.

Driver License:  Ohio Driver's License Required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Management

  • Assist in defining project scopes, identifying resources, and establishing timelines for sustainability initiatives.
  • Coordinate with partner agencies to achieve program outcomes.
  • Maintain detailed project files and documentation.
  • Track project progress and ensure timelines are met.

Program Coordination

  • Support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of system-wide and site-specific services and programs.
  • Assist in managing operations for multiple satellite locations, including:

o         ArtBox, Edgewater Beach Book Box, Wade Oval Book Box (May-October)

o         CWRU, CSU, Tri-C Metro satellite locations (September-May)

o         West Side Market location (year-round)

o         Hours range from Monday-Saturday anytime between 10:00am-9:00pm

  • Coordinate recurring programs including but not limited to the following:

o         Fix-It CLE Workshops and Tool Library, Seed Library/Garden Tool Library/Garden Clubs, Fun Physics Fridays, Youth Climate Action Summit, Sea Grant Robotics Program, Beachside Storytime, and Air Quality Educational Programming

  • Develop and implement monthly themes for the West Side Market location.

Vendor and Partnership Management

  • Research potential vendors and community partners.
  • Assist in negotiating agreements and managing contracts.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with key vendors and partners.
  • Process invoices and maintain vendor relationships.

Budget Administration

  • Create budget estimates for programs and initiatives.
  • Track expenses and ensure adherence to project budgets.
  • Process financial paperwork according to library policies.

 Data Management and Reporting

  • Compile data on program attendance, engagement, and impact.
  • Generate regular reports on key metrics tied to sustainability efforts..
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for management review
  • Prepare, deliver, and collect patron survey data.

Staff Coordination and Training

  • Help coordinate and train staff across the library system on sustainability initiatives.
  • Assist in scheduling and training staff for satellite locations and special programs.
  • Provide guidance to volunteers and temporary staff at events.

Communication and Outreach

  • Develop and review marketing materials for upcoming events.
  • Maintain routine communication with vendors, partner agencies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in promoting environmental literacy and equity through library programming.
  • Support community outreach efforts related to sustainability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
