Are you eager to lead groundbreaking sustainability efforts at the LEGO Group's newest manufacturing site, driving impactful change in environmental practices?


Join the Global LEGO team as a Sustainability Manager to spearhead innovative carbon, water, and waste strategies at our new manufacturing site, collaborating globally to achieve Zero Impact Operations and drive meaningful environmental change.

Core Responsibilities

Lead the full lifecycle of sustainability initiatives at the site, including baseline setting, roadmap development, investment case, delivery, and performance reporting.

Translate global Zero Impact Operations strategy into a site-specific plan with clear owners and milestones.

Collaborate with site engineering, facilities, and production teams to build and maintain resource-efficiency roadmaps.

Prioritize and manage the project pipeline using tools like the Water Resilience Matrix and Marginal Abatement Cost (MAC) for carbon.

Engage with the Site Leadership Team to provide updates, options, and recommendations for decision-making.

Coordinate Kaizen and continuous improvement events to achieve sustainability outcomes.

Build sustainability ownership and literacy across site teams through engagement and behavior-change activities.

Sustainable Operations is a global department leading the change journey towards Zero Impact Operation in our factories. We lead and develop sustainability strategies and roadmaps for carbon, water, and waste at factory level and play an important part in the LEGO Group's sustainability ambitions and commitments.

The Sustainability Manager delivers the site's sustainability agenda, translating global sustainability strategy and long-term goals into site-specific roadmaps and driving execution in close partnership with the site's engineering and operations teams. The role is the operational delivery layer at site level carrying the technical credibility to work alongside engineers and the engagement skills to keep sustainability visible at the Site Leadership Team table.


Do you have what it takes?

Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or operations environment, with a focus on sustainability. Bachelor's degree (BSc/BEng) in Engineering (chemical, mechanical, environmental, energy, or process) or a closely related technical or environmental science discipline is highly desirable to engage with engineering functions for business alignment.


Must have:

Proven end-to-end delivery of carbon, energy, water, or waste projects at plant or site level, owning the outcomes.

Stakeholder management skills, experience with senior leadership, decision meetings, and shop-floor engagement.

Cross-functional collaboration experience, leading projects and workstreams without direct authority.


Nice to have

Advanced expertise in carbon/GHG accounting and ISO 50001 systems, with skills in roadmap and abatement-curve development.

Knowledge of water resource conservation and waste-flow analysis, including resilience and risk assessment, supported by valued certifications like LEED or BREEAM.

Proficiency in project and portfolio management, budgeting, and financial literacy, enhanced by a Master's in Sustainability or related fields.

Strong data analysis capabilities, including KPI design and performance/ESG reporting, with familiarity in continuous improvement methods like Lean and Kaizen.

Excellent communication and storytelling skills, turning complex data into compelling cases for action, supported by project management certifications like PMP/PRINCE2

Commercial and financial awareness, contributing to capital and Opex budgets and supporting investment cases.

Additional

Best of Both work arrangement - 3 days onsite and 2 days remote

No relocation will be available

Some minimal travel (including internationally) will be required


Compensation

The salary for this position has a range of $104,327.00 - $156,491.00 based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalisation of the employment offer.
