Job description

Johnston Memorial Hospital and Ballad Health Medical Associates located in Abingdon, VA are currently seeking a BE/BC, Full Time Hem/Onc Physician to join their established, stable group. Candidate will join a wonderful medical community with supportive administration. Radiation Oncology onsite with TruBeam & SBRT capabilities as well as da Vinci and Ion robotic systems. There is an active navigation program, American Cancer Society Resource Room and partnership with non-profits such as Susan G. Komen, Cancer Outreach etc. A robust and aligned local medical community support this service and many of the providers are aligned with Ballad Health.

Support:

Physician will join 2 additional Hem/Onc Physicians and 3 APPs. The APPs manage infusion services and see acute & symptomatic patients and work under the direct supervision of the physician group. There is a large, diverse support staff of APPs, RNs, dietary, navigators, schedulers, pre-cert and financial team. Practice includes a full-service infusion room and a typical out-patient oncology practice. Pharmacy is managed by hospital-based team, which includes an oncology boarded pharmacist on staff. Support from specialists to include Rad Onc, Surgery, Pulm, GI, Urology, OB/GYN, Pathology, Radiology (including IR). There is also a strong primary care cohort with IM and FM residents training at JMH.

Because our residency programs are based in Virginia, we are unable to facilitate the pathways provided by this specific Tennessee legislation. IMGs seeking to utilize these new state-specific opportunities are encouraged to focus their search on Tennessee-based academic institutions.
