Karl Strauss is actively interviewing for Part-Time openings as a Brewpub Crew Member. Compensation: Hourly Rate: $26-32/hour (including tip wage)

Position Summary

The Brewpub Crew Member position focuses on creating an environment of hospitality and enthusiasm for guests within the Brewpubs. The role of the Brewpub Crew Member is to guide and support the guest through Brewpub Experience while completing necessary job functions. This position will be assigned the duties of the Counter Beer Expert (CBE), Experience Ambassador (EA), Expeditor (Expo), Hospitality Hero (HH), or Beer Hero (BE) on a rotating shift basis based on position performance. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates proficient knowledge about the Company’s initiatives and policies & procedures.
  • Attends and actively participates in Daily Huddles.
  • Follows all Steps of Service as outlined in the Service Six-Pack.
  • Maintains education by using the “Monthly Service Tools” to ensure up-to-date knowledge on company communication, training modules, and Local, State, and Federal regulations.
  • Follows coaching and direction given by the GM, Lead, or Shift Captain.
  • Aligns with the Company’s purpose of “Making People Happy one Karl Strauss Beer at a Time.”
  • Exhibits a positive and professional demeanor by demonstrating optimism, warmth, and integrity to create a pleasant environment for guests and other team members.
  • Works to build relationships with guests and continuously looks for opportunities to make each experience memorable.
  • Demonstrates teamwork by consistently helping teammates on tasks that may be outside of their normal job duties.
  • Assists the team in the set-up and breakdown of the Brewpub.
  • Follows all company safety policies and all chemical safety MSDS requirements.
  • Helps maintain a clean work environment by performing all daily and weekly side work.
  • Helps the management team resolve any concerns to ensure we serve the safest and highest quality food to our guests.
  • Serves alcohol responsibly by adhering to all Company policies, and local, state, and federal regulations concerning the sale of alcohol. Reports potential consumption concerns to the management team before serving another round.
  • Checks the valid ID of any guest that appears to be under 40 years of age.
  • Assists with answering the phone, taking to-go orders, redirecting calls, and providing guests with accurate information regarding operations, menu, and general questions.

  • High School diploma or equivalent 
  • Previous experience in a brewpub or taproom preferred
  • Knowledge and passion for craft beer preferred
  • Previous hospitality experience
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced setting while remaining calm and organized
  • Previous experience working in a customer service role
  • Requires strong verbal communication skills
  • Punctual and enthusiastic, honest, and reliable 
  • Successful completion of the Company’s onboarding, training program, and subsequent testing

Physical Demands: Heavy work - Employee typically shares workstation with others in similar positions.  Time spent conducting sedentary work is less than 25%.  It requires walking, standing, and driving for more than 75% of the workday.  Lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds and requires wearing the pre-established uniform, including non-slip, closed-toe shoes
