A Brief Overview
Provides clerical support in meeting department staffing needs.
What you will do

  • Answers telephone in a clear and concise manner
  • Takes and relays messages promptly
  • Provides information in a courteous, professional manner.
  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills
  • Maintains sick call Log Book.
  • Notes sick calls and records same in Log Book, computer, and Daily Staffing.
  • Records telephone calls made after consulting with Unit Nurse Manager, consults with Nursing Supervisor during the evening or weekend shift.
  • Records and verbally notifies the Unit Nurse Manager whose unit is affected by the sick call during the day and Nursing Supervisor during the evening or weekend shift.
  • Schedules and cancels Registry Nurses as needed per Nurse Manager or consults with Nursing Supervisor during the evening or weekend shift.
  • Schedules and cancels Agency Nurses as needed per Director of Nursing Services during the weekday and Nursing Supervisor during evening shift or weekend.
  • Inputs Daily Staffing Sheet changes into the computer.
  • Maintains and respects staff and patient confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates compliance with the Hospital and Departments dress code policy by appearing well groomed, wearing ID badge while on duty and maintaining a professional appearance.
  • Performs any related duties as assigned


Education Qualifications

  • High School Graduate Required and
  • Business School graduate Preferred


Experience Qualifications

  • Prior experience in staffing office or temporary agency Preferred


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic problem-solving skills
  • Familiar with office equipment such as computer, copier, & fax
