Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Director of Supply Chain Programs. This position will be located in either Huntsville, AL or Roy, UT and will lead the day-to-day supply chain execution of the Launch Systems (LS) Business Unit for the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division (SDS) and Segment for the Sentinel program. This position reports directly to the senior Director of Supply Chain Programs for Sentinel.

What You'll Get To Do:

  • Develops the acquisition/sourcing strategies and leads the activities for GSC in all phases of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP);
  • Ensures that prior to program execution, all elements of the proposed program(s) plans have complete and accurate schedules, budgets, make/buy plans, and procurement and subcontracts strategies;
  • Leads supply chain Program execution and is accountable for resource planning, material cost, forecasting, schedule performance, risk/opportunity management, supplier performance, and supply chain issue resolution;
  • Briefs the Program Management Office (PMO) and executive management on the status and issues affecting Program cost and schedule performance;
  • Participates in negotiations;
  • Conducts program reviews with the suppliers, subcontractors and program office;
  • Makes decisions affecting the performance of the subcontractor; and
  • Working with the Supplier Management Team (SMT) ensures subcontractors have established milestone objectives and that they meet schedules, contractual specifications and all compliance requirements
  • Ensures subcontractor performs within the established program cost, schedule, and quality

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.Relocation may be offered.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years' experience (or 8 years with a Masters) in defense or aerospace systems and/or management in development or production projects.
  • Experience managing people
  • Subcontracting experience including working knowledge of basic construction terms and industry practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of supply chain management techniques, practices or theories gained through wide seasoning and/or special development. Typically, a broad functional knowledge.
  • Experience in leading managers and/or professionals to achieve projects cost, performance, and schedule requirements.
  • Experience creating and maintaining trusted relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret clearance

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering and/or technical discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in supply chain management on a major program.
  • Master's Degree in a Business or Technical field.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, with all levels of management and individual contributors.
  • Demonstrated experience in interfacing seamlessly with functional teams, customers and major subcontractors in an IPT structure
  • Program Management experience with earned value management system (EVMS) program.
  • Experience with Firm Fixed Price and Cost Type Construction contracts and subcontracts using design-build and a design-bid-build execution strategy
  • Strong analytical skills.
Primary Level Salary Range: $176,100.00 - $292,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
