Job Overview:

The Supply Chain Manager I is an entry-level manager role responsible for managing supplier-related activities across complex programs, ensuring effective supplier performance, material availability, and cost visibility. This position provides ownership of supplier information management, order execution tracking, performance reporting, and spend forecasting to support program goals and operational execution.

The role operates with a high degree of independence and requires strong analytical capability, supplier engagement experience, and the ability to translate program requirements into executable supply chain actions.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Information Management

  • Maintain and govern supplier master data including capabilities, certifications, pricing structures, and lead times
  • Ensure supplier data integrity within ERP systems
  • Develop supplier profiles to support sourcing decisions and audits
Order Execution & Expedite Management
  • Monitor purchase order status and manage execution to meet delivery requirements
  • Lead supplier expediting for critical and long-lead materials
  • Identify delivery risks and coordinate mitigation actions
Supplier Performance Management & Reporting
  • Develop supplier performance metrics (delivery, quality, responsiveness)
  • Generate supplier scorecards and performance reports
  • Support corrective actions for underperforming suppliers
Supplier Spend & Forecast Reporting
  • Maintain supplier-level and program-level spend visibility
  • Track actual vs forecast spend and provide variance analysis
  • Support budgeting and cost tracking through reporting
Cross-Functional Program Support
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and program teams
  • Support procurement strategy execution
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing suppliers in manufacturing environment
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Experience supporting government/defense programs
  • Experience with supplier performance systems
  • Knowledge of forecasting and cost reporting
  • CSCP, CPIM or equivalent certification
