Job Description 2nd Shift Production Supervisor - Forsyth, MO2:30-1:15amSUMMARY:The production supervisor plays a key leadership role, oversees the daily activities of safety, quality, production, and leads employees in all production procedures during the assigned shift. Supervises and coordinates all Tableting, Tablet Coating, Encapsulation, Sanitation, and Blending operations to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient production. Partners with other Shift Supervisors, Department Supervisors, and Department Managers to ensure proper handover of activities, algin workflow, resources, and production priorities. Serve as a mentor to front-line operators and leaders.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of the position at any time. Include, but are not limited to, the following;Leadership & OperationsProvide managerial, technical, and training leadership across assigned manufacturing units.Prioritize, schedule, and allocate shift resources to meet daily production requirements and service expectations.Maintain working knowledge of all production processes, equipment, and systemsProvide daily follow up on production orders scheduled for shipment.Monitor machine down time and production rates to maintain quality and quantity.Safety, Quality & ComplianceEnsure all operations are conducted in accordance with company safety, quality, and regulatory standards (FDA, Kosher, GMP, HACCP).Promote safety, sanitation, and workplace organization on a daily basis.Investigate quality, yield, and operational deviations; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.Communicate manufacturing, quality, safety, and colleague concerns to appropriate stakeholders.Provide a safe working environment.Monitor cleanliness and mechanical condition of all production equipment.Review all paperwork on completed formulas for accuracy.People ManagementRecruit, train, and develop operators; ensure required training and certifications are completed.Manage employee relations, performance management, payroll accuracy, and employee transactions for direct reports.Enforce SOPs and company policies and address noncompliance as needed.Maintain daily accountability of all department members.Direct work, conduct performance appraisals, reward and/or discipline employees, address complaints and resolve problems.Oversee training and cross-training program.Continuous Improvement & InventorySupport initiatives that improve productivity, efficiency, teamwork, and Inventory Record Accuracy.Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the site.Assist in development and improvement of methods for monitoring quality of product being manufactured.OtherAct as lead responder during emergencies or security incidents while on duty.Open and close the facilityServes as a back up to Sanitation Supervisor/ManagerPerform other duties as assignedEQUIPMENT USED: Encapsulation, Tableting, Tablet Coating, Inspection equipment, and Blending equipment.Computer, telephone, facsimile machine, copier, material handling equipment, and fork lift.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Previous production and leadership experienceBachelor's degree preferred or a high school diploma/GED with 4+ years of relevant work experienceHigh School Diploma/GED required3+ years of experience in a lead/supervisor role in continuous manufacturing operationsDemonstrated communication, organizational, trouble-shooting, and record keeping skillsPassion for learning and willingness to learn and assume new responsibilitiesMust have a valid Driver's License.LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and write professional publications and correspondence.Ability to effectively present information verbally and physically at different levels of comprehension in one-on-one and group situations and to deal with problems involving personnel and mechanical situations.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram forms.Deal with problems involving personnel and mechanical situations.OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES: Ability to apply or quickly acquire basic methods of instruction.Must be a good communicator and be self-motivated.Must have the ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.Must be able to present in large groups.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
