Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of ADTRAN products. This position supervises manufacturing personnel, coordinates production activities, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. The Production Supervisor works closely with Engineering, Quality, Materials, Planning, and Supply Chain teams to support production goals and customer commitments in a high-mix electronics manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop production team members to achieve operational objectives.
  • Coordinate daily manufacturing activities to ensure production schedules and customer delivery requirements are met.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including productivity, throughput, labor efficiency, scrap, yield, and downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, ESD requirements, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop staffing plans and allocate resources to support changing production demands.
  • Conduct daily shift meetings and communicate production goals, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Train, mentor, and develop employees to improve skills, engagement, and performance.
  • Address employee relations, attendance, performance, and disciplinary matters in accordance with company policies.
  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Materials, and Supply Chain teams to resolve production issues.
  • Support new product introductions (NPI), engineering changes, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste and improve operational performance.
  • Maintain accurate production records, reports, and performance metrics.
  • Support internal and external audits while ensuring adherence to established procedures and work instructions.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field preferred, or e
  • Equivalent combination of education and manufacturing leadership experience may be considered.

Experience
  • 3 to 5+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, SMT, test, or related high-tech manufacturing preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading production teams and achieving operational performance goals.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes and production workflows.
  • Ability to analyze production data and make informed decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Understanding of quality systems, IPC standards, ESD requirements, and manufacturing best practices.
