Part Time - Facilities Maintenance Technician – Maderas Golf Club

Non-Exempt

Job Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and supporting the overall operation of club facilities and grounds equipment to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment for members, guests, and employees. This position performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and general repairs for buildings, equipment, and club infrastructure while supporting daily operations of the golf club.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on club facilities, including clubhouse, offices, restrooms, kitchens, locker rooms, and other property buildings.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and complete work orders in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, painting, carpentry, and mechanical issues.
  • Maintain and repair doors, locks, windows, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Assist with setup and breakdown for club events, tournaments, and special functions.
  • Ensure all maintenance areas, tools, and equipment are kept clean, organized, and safe.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations.
  • Monitor facility conditions and report major repair needs or safety concerns to management.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and maintenance equipment safely.
  • Support compliance with OSHA regulations and club safety standards.
  •  Assist with exterior maintenance, including pressure washing, minor landscaping support, and trash removal as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory usage.
  • Work collaboratively with all departments to support club operations and member satisfaction.
  • Drive and maneuver golf carts safely.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or related experience.
  • Basic working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repair practices.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow work orders, safety procedures, and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade school certification or technical training in facilities maintenance, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working in a golf club, hospitality, resort, or recreational facility environment.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs and facility management systems.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and safe maintenance practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair commercial facility systems independently.
  • Forklift, lift equipment, or other maintenance-related certifications preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills in a member-focused environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently stands, walks, sits; uses hands; frequently reaches with hands and arms; frequently talks and hears.
  • Occasionally climbs or balances; occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, squats or crawls; occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to traverse various athletic grounds and facilities.
  • Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment safely.

Environment/Noise: 

  • Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
  • Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. 
  • Noise level is loud.
