Part Time - Banquet Server - Maderas Golf Club

Non-exempt

Job Summary
The Banquet Server is responsible for providing exceptional service to guests at banquet events, ensuring a positive and enjoyable dining experience. This role involves setting up banquet halls, serving food and beverages, maintaining cleanliness during events, and responding to guest needs. The ideal candidate will be attentive, courteous, and capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment, all while delivering top-notch customer service. 

Essential Functions: 

  • Assist with the setup and arrangement of banquet tables, chairs, linens, and other necessary items.
  • Ensure proper placement of table settings, glassware, and cutlery in accordance with event specifications.
  • Set up buffet stations, food displays, and beverage stations as needed.
  • Greet guests and ensure that their needs are met throughout the event.
  • Serve food and beverages in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests, providing high-quality service throughout the event.
  • Anticipate guest needs and act proactively to enhance their experience.
  • Ensure that food and beverages are served in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Refill beverages, clear empty plates, and replenish food items during the event.
  • Assist with the presentation of food and beverages to ensure it meets quality standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in banquet areas before, during, and after events.
  • Clean and reset banquet areas after events to prepare for the next function.
  • Assist with the removal of trash and the cleaning of equipment and utensils.
  • Work closely with the banquet team, kitchen staff, and event coordinators to ensure smooth event operations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure tasks are completed on time.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings and taste tests. Maintain organized workstation and side work duties
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance.    
  • Performs other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Qualifications:

Minimum: Qualifications:

  • 1 -2 years of experience in banquet or event service.
  • Must be 21 years old.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Food Safety and Sanitation Training and Alcohol Awareness Training. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and staff.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional guest service and ensuring a positive experience for all event attendees.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event schedules.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently stands, walks, sits; uses hands; frequently reaches with hands and arms; frequently talks and hears.
  • Occasionally climbs or balances; occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, squats or crawls; occasionally lifts up to 30 pounds.

Environment/Noise:

  • Frequently works in outdoor weather conditions. 
  • Noise level is moderate.
