Job description

Overview

Sunday River is looking for Lift Operators for our 2026/27 season! Our fun and diverse team of operators works both indoors and outdoors while assisting our guests at the ski lifts.  

Ski lifts are surprisingly easy to operate and there is no mechanical experience necessary. The ability to ski or snowboard is not required for this position but there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the slopes while working. Our operators have a great mix of social interaction and also enjoy plenty of mountain solitude!  

We offer flexible part-time and full-time schedules and reward team members who are committed! There is something for everyone, so come join our team! 


Responsibilities
  • Participate in 3 day Lift Operation training, follow up training, and team meetings
  • Complete pre-operational lift checks with the assistance and guidance of the Lift Maintenance department
  • Shovel snow, pick ice, and groom ski surfaces around lifts
  • Set up and remove signs, corrals, and other equipment to assist the guests with staging, loading and unloading
  • Meet and greet guests 
  • Operate lifts in accordance with safety protocols and procedures  
  • Safely load and unload guests 
  • Observe all guests getting on and off lifts and respond to any unsafe situations  
  • Assist with crowd control and lift ticket checking 
  • Assume the role of Sunday River Ambassador who is ready and eager to converse with guests
  • Communicate effectively with other departments on safety issues, mechanical problems and general inquires 

Qualifications
  • No prior experience required but ski resort knowledge is helpful 
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather 
  • Must be 18 years of age or older 

Compensation & Benefits 

  • Wages range from $15.50 to $20, depending on experience, with opportunities for professional growth and advancement. 
  • Seasonal Team Member perks include: 
  • Free ski pass for self, and additional ski passes for dependents of full-time Team Members.
