Job description

Overview

Sunday River and Sugarloaf are two of New England’s most celebrated four-season resorts — and together, they represent an unmatched portfolio for group sales. We’re looking for a driven, relationship-first sales professional to represent both mountains in the Maine market, focusing on the association and government segments that are central to our group business strategy.

This is not a desk job. You’ll be in the field building genuine client partnerships and converting those relationships into memorable group experiences across two world-class resort destinations. Reporting jointly to the Vice President of Sales at Sunday River and the Vice President of Sales at Sugarloaf, you’ll have the support of both resort teams and the reach of the full Boyne Resorts network behind you.

Where You’ll Be Based

This role requires you to live within one hour of Augusta, Maine. You’ll spend meaningful time in the field with clients across Maine and New England, with regular visits to both Sunday River and Sugarloaf for site tours, high-demand periods, team meetings, and group events.

Two Mountains. One Role. Twice the Story to Tell.

Selling Sunday River and Sugarloaf together gives you a rare competitive advantage — the ability to match every client’s group to the right destination, season, and experience. Whether it’s a legislative conference in the fall, a ski incentive trip in February, or a summer leadership retreat, you’ll have the flexibility and depth to close business that a single-resort role simply can’t.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

Drive Revenue Growth

  • Own and exceed sales and revenue goals across both full-service resorts, spanning a combined 74,000 sq ft in function space, diverse lodging, F&B, spa, golf, lift tickets, and additional ancillary revenue streams
  • Prospect, qualify, and close new group business while deepening relationships with existing accounts at Sunday River and Sugarloaf
  • Execute every stage of the group sales cycle — from lead generation through contract negotiation and close
  • Hit and exceed weekly prospecting targets with self-motivation, discipline and creativity

Build Relationships That Last

  • Conduct frequent, high-quality client visits and entertainment across Augusta and the broader Maine market
  • Develop and maintain strong account relationships that translate into repeat and referral business across both resorts
  • Prepare and present compelling proposals that match client needs to the full range of offerings at Sunday River and Sugarloaf
  • Partner closely with conference services teams at both resorts to ensure seamless handoffs and exceptional guest experiences

Think and Act Strategically

  • Stay current on market trends, competitive dynamics, and the evolving needs of your segments
  • Develop and execute a market strategy for your segments grounded in data and destination insight across both properties
  • Maintain accurate records in Amadeus/Delphi and contribute to weekly sales reporting for both resort VPs
  • Bring a continuous improvement mindset — from strategy through execution — coordinating priorities across two resort teams

Qualifications

What You Bring:

  • 3–5 years of sales experience in hospitality, resort, or event/group management
  • A proven record of hitting and exceeding group sales goals
  • Comfort working across multiple stakeholders and teams — you’re organized, communicative, and collaborative
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship skills — in person and in writing
  • The ability to work independently and remotely while managing a demanding travel and client schedule
  • Strong organization and problem-solving instincts; you don’t let things fall through the cracks
  • Familiarity with Amadeus/Delphi and Duetto platforms (preferred, not required)
  • A flexible schedule — including select weekends and evenings for events and site visits at both resorts, along with frequent in-market travel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or related field preferred

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, complemented by an uncapped monthly commission structure designed to reward high performers. With earning potential directly tied to group event sales success across both resorts, top performers can significantly exceed base compensation. This is an ideal role for a driven sales professional who thrives on results and wants their income to reflect their impact.

Team Member Perks:

• Free ski and golf passes for you and your dependents, with access to Sunday River, Sugarloaf, and the full Boyne Resorts network

• Resort discounts on dining, retail, lodging, and spa at both properties

• Access to affordable team member housing

• Comprehensive benefits: health insurance, 401(k) with match, HSA, dental, vision, life insurance, and PTO

If you’re a self-starter who thrives in the field, loves building relationships, and wants to represent two of New England’s greatest mountain destinations — we’d love to hear from you.
