SALARY: $20.57 per hour


QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants must have a high school diploma/equivalent. MUST possess a valid AZ driver's license, ability to pass a pre-employment physical, successfully complete training programs with post-training qualification period, successful completion of drug and alcohol testing, ability to write clear and concise reports and must be available to work weekends, holidays and evening hours.


GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

This is a single-level classification. Streetcar Operators operate light rail vehicles safely and in accordance with a designated schedule and observe all laws, regulations and procedures. The responsibilities include performing the safe on-time operation of the Sun Link Streetcar and providing professional customer service in the transport of the public for the City of Tucson.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations; assist passengers with special needs including offering assistance in boarding or de-boarding persons with disabilities; provide information to passengers regarding service area; troubleshoot and operate malfunctioning light rail vehicles; operate track switches and provide hand signals or traffic flagging. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and evening hours.
