Job description

Summit Psychological Associates, Inc. has full and part time openings for a master's level LPC/LPCC or LSW/LISW who specialize in forensic services, which could include working in our sex offender treatment program. Summit Psychological Associates is certified by CARF to provide forensic services and by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections to provide diagnostic assessment and treatment services to adults who have been charged or convicted of a sex offense. The forensic treatment team meets weekly to discuss programming and client care and to provide support to the team members. Overall training is provided to clinicians working with the forensic population and specialized training is provided to clinicians for working with adults who have committed sex offenses. A master's level Psychology Assistant would be considered with experience in providing individual and/or group treatment. Supervision toward licensure is provided by the agency for non-independent clinicians. A full-time clinician is preferable, however, a part time clinician would be considered. Services are provided in the Akron Office of Summit Psychological Associates, and one day a week at the Canton Summit Psychological location. Individual and group services are provided in the office with the ability to work from the office for in-person services and to have some of their schedule be providing telehealth services remotely from their homes for eligible clients and activities.Based on experience, clinical duties can include the following: Individual and group counseling for adolescents and adults referred by mental health or drug courts; Individual and group counseling with clients in the sex offender treatment program; Individual counseling with clients who have developmental disabilities and forensic involvement; Group counseling for domestic violence perpetrators; and Individual and Group counseling for dual mental health and substance use.The treatment team is looking for a dedicated, caring professional who wants to provide effective mental health care to diverse populations. Summit Psychological Associates is a behavioral health agency founded in 1984. Its mission is to provide the highest quality, cost effective behavioral health care to our clients and referral sources. Our staff consists of professionals from the major behavioral health care disciplines who are dedicated to helping people live healthier, happier and more productive lives.Current paneling by insurance companies is preferred but not required. Independent clinicians with supervisor credentials are encouraged to apply.
