Job description

At Summit, we build and operate the infrastructure behind some of the most critical applications in regulated industries. The work is complex, expectations are high, and the environments we support require precision and thoughtful execution.
We specialize in enterprise-class Application Hosting, Managed Services, and Cloud Solutions, with deep expertise in compliance, security, and performance. Our focus is simple: make the complex manageable and deliver technology that works - reliably, securely, and at scale.
Whether supporting customers directly or enabling the teams that do, every employee plays a role in delivering exceptional experiences and driving our success.
The Staff Accountant supports the accuracy and integrity of Summit's financial operations through month-end close activities, reconciliations, financial analysis, and day-to-day accounting support. This role works closely with Finance and cross-functional partners to maintain reliable financial records and support informed business decisions.
What You'll Do:
  • Prepare journal entries and support monthly close activities.
  • Perform general ledger analysis and account reconciliations.
  • Complete daily bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Support balance sheet reconciliations and financial reporting activities.
  • Assist with commission reviews in partnership with Sales Operations and People Operations.
  • Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and related reporting.
  • Provide backup support for accounts payable processes.
  • Manage accounting-related credit card activity and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls.
  • Support special projects and other accounting initiatives as needed.

What You'll Deliver:
  • Accurate and timely financial records and reporting.
  • Reliable reconciliations that support financial integrity.
  • Strong partnership with internal stakeholders across the business.
  • Well-maintained accounting documentation and audit support.
  • Continuous improvements to accounting processes and operational efficiency.

You'll Thrive in This Role If You:
  • Enjoy solving problems and working with complex financial information.
  • Have a strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Can balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance audiences.
  • Take initiative and look for opportunities to improve processes.
  • Work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.

Bonus Points:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience.
  • Experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting platforms.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience supporting accounting functions in a technology or professional services environment.
