Job Description
College Settlement Camp is a nonprofit summer camp located on a 235-acre property in Horsham, Pennsylvania, approximately 15 miles outside of Philadelphia. We serve children and teens through day and overnight programs focused on outdoor learning, personal growth, and community building.

Counselors work directly with a group of campers and participate in a wide range of camp activities, including outdoor recreation, creative programming, group games, and evening events. In addition to supervising campers, counselors help model positive behavior, support social and emotional growth, and contribute to a welcoming camp community.
This position involves real responsibility and offers valuable experience working with children in an active, team-based setting. Counselors receive training in camp safety, child development, and emergency procedures prior to the start of camp.
Schedule and Duration
The summer camp season runs from June through mid-August. Both residential (live-on-site) and day (live-off-site) positions are available. Schedules vary by program assignment and include weekdays and occasional evenings.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Competitive seasonal pay (based on role and experience)
  • Housing and meals provided for residential staff
  • Training certifications offered, including CPR and First Aid
  • College internship or academic credit may be available (check with your institution)
  • Opportunity for continued employment during the school year or future summers

Experience and Requirements
  • Experience working with children or youth preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Willingness to take on responsibility in an active outdoor environment
  • Commitment to camper safety, positive youth development, and inclusion

This role is well-suited for individuals seeking hands-on experience in youth development, education, recreation, or nonprofit work, and for those interested in making a meaningful impact while gaining professional skills.
