Our swimmers are not only diving into great lessons, our employees are also diving into great opportunities! At Goldfish Swim School, we care about providing top-notch swim lessons and making every moment Golden.

We offer part-time hours, a set weekly schedule and a growth track in place to build your leadership skills and achievements. You can grow with Goldfish even if this is your after school or second job.
As employers, we recognize that our team members are the most important people in our building since you are the ones who show our families why they should choose Goldfish Swim School for their children. Were looking for someone who fits our core values - you dont have to have experience as a swim instructor or as a lifeguard (but you do need to know how to swim). Most importantly, you need to have a passion for helping others, customer service and a fin-tastic personality.
What will you be doing?
Swim Instructors and lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the success of swim lessons by:
  • Making sure you and your team are set up for success at every lesson by preparing your class materials and reviewing your lesson themes
  • Teaching 4 swimmers per class by going through a well-established and proven curriculum of water safety, swim and swimplay skills (6 swimmers in our infant, parent-and-me style lessons). Each lesson lasts 30 minutes and is followed by the next lesson consecutively for a 4-hour shift.
  • Communicating progress and celebrating accomplishments with parents and caregivers at the end of class
  • Lifeguarding and supervising lessons as requested or needed
Youll guide new swimmers through their first days at Goldfish and be there to support them as they progress from mini and junior swimmers to gliders and pros!
What can we offer you?
  • A built-in growth track that will help you grow into leadership roles from swim instructor/lifeguard to Golden Teacher, Deck Supervisor and beyond
  • Consistent, 4-hour shifts so youll always know what day and time youre working
  • Shallow-water ELLIS Lifeguard Certification courses throughout the year
  • Flexibility to pick up or add extra hours as a substitute teacher if you want them
  • The only thing better than an outdoor summer pool job - were open all year round and its always 90 degrees and sunny
  • Recognition and rewards - Gift cards, swag or pizza after a long day in the pool, staff outings, community involvement events and company-sponsored events like baseball games, and bowling.
  • Support from your leaders and your team both at work and in life, whether thats inviting you to bring your friends on board or providing open, honest communication in a positive environment
  • Other compensation programs: Team members may be eligible for discretionary incentive or recognition programs, such as gift cards, referral incentives, or other location-specific rewards, where offered.
What will be expected of you?
  • Availability for set groups of swim lessons (no half-shifts or mid-shifts available). Our instructors are scheduled based on set lesson times from:
    • 9:00-12:00 and 4:00-8:00 Monday through Friday
    • 8:30-3:00pm on Saturday
    • 8:30-3:00pm on Sunday
  • Employees must be able to arrive 15 minutes before swim lessons start to set up and participate in the pre-shift meeting.
  • Ability to work the same scheduled days every week (Ex. Every Monday from 4:00-8:00)
  • You have to be patient & genuine - every swimmer learns at their own pace, in their own way. Your willingness to help each student as an individual and your ability to bring your own personality to the lessons you teach are key to the success of both you and your students.
  • You must have customer service skills to help children with their development as swimmers, and communicate with parents
  • The ability to do quality work and represent Goldfish Swim Schools mission to change lives and make a difference every day by going above and beyond with every detail, meeting and exceeding expectations to create a golden experience
  • Doing the right things, making the right decisions and treating people with integrity, compassion and trust.
