The Teen Academy program is a summer work + internship program which began in 2016 at the IHG Army Hotel in Joint Force Base San Antonio. In 2017, other IHG Army Hotels took notice, and a portfolio-wide program was born.

Teen Academy is designed as a 10-Week Program.
Program duration may vary depending on local school schedules.
The Program takes place during summer months only when school is out.
Participating teens may not work more than 40 hours per week, work more than 8 hours/days 5 days/week; or work overtime.
Core program hours: 0800 - 1600.
Qualifications -
Ages 14 to 16, subject to federal and state labor laws.
Each teen should be willing to learn different job duties including Houseperson, Housekeeping, Laundry, and Breakfast Attendant. *
Must have transportation and be able to gain access to the post.
Teen must have a family member working at the hotel; the sponsoring employee cannot have any active Corrective Actions.
Each teen will be interviewed by the GM, HM, OM, and the HR Manager (if applicable).
If the teen is hired, the teen and the sponsoring employee must sign the Job Description form, the Teen Academy Agreement, and a release of liability form. * The sponsoring employee and participating teen must also provide either a federal or state certificate of age as well as any work permits, or certificates required under state law. The required permit(s)/certificate(s) must be provided to IHG prior to the start of the Program.
If the sponsoring employee is not the teen's parent or legal guardian, the parent/guardian must also sign the Job Description form, the Teen Academy Agreement, and a release of liability form, and ensure all certificates of age/work permits are provided to IHG.
* Subject to state occupational restrictions.
The hourly rate for this role is $16.23 to $17.99 We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision, insurance, 401k, and many other benefits to eligible employees.
