Job Description
The Accounting Technician-Accounts Payable administers and coordinates the College's accounts payable processes to ensure the timely and accurate processing of financial transactions. The position performs intermediate-level accounting and administrative functions requiring analytical skills, sound judgment, and a thorough understanding of accounting procedures.
The Accounting Technician maintains financial records, prepares reports, supports audit and compliance activities, and provides excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders while ensuring adherence to College policies and applicable regulations.
Required Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school graduation or equivalent and three years of accounting/bookkeeping experience required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively assist students, employees, and members of the public in a professional and customer-focused manner, including during high-pressure or sensitive situations.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, recordkeeping, and document management.
• Effective written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, accurate, and professional correspondence and reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and the ability to learn and utilize specialized software systems.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities, manage competing deadlines, and exercise sound judgment in accordance with College policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with employees, students, external stakeholders, and the public.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and maintain compliance with applicable privacy requirements.

Associate's degree in accounting is preferred.
