Job description

Position: SUMMER SOCIAL EMOTIONAL LEARNING (SEL) TEACHER

Position Summary
The District is seeking qualified educators to serve as Summer SEL Intervention Teachers. This position will provide targeted social-emotional learning (SEL) and behavioral skill development to small groups of students requiring enhanced support in areas such as self-management, self-awareness, relationship skills, responsible decision-making, and social awareness.

Staff will implement evidence-based SEL strategies, facilitate skill-building activities, monitor student progress, and collaborate with program staff to support positive student outcomes.

Program Dates:
June 22, 2026 July 23, 2026

Work Schedule:
This position is contingent upon student enrollment and program needs. The anticipated work hours are 9:00 a.m. 12:00 p.m. on program days.

The schedule may be Monday through Thursday or Monday through Friday, depending on final enrollment and staffing needs. Applicants should be available during the designated hours, with the understanding that the final schedule will be determined prior to the start of the program.

Additional Pre-Program Responsibilities:
Selected staff will be expected to devote additional time prior to the start of the program to review and analyze student discipline and behavioral data in order to identify student needs and support program planning. These additional workdays and hours will be communicated at a later date.

Compensation:
$50.00 per hour

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with students requiring behavioral, social-emotional, or intervention supports preferred.
  • Knowledge of SEL competencies, restorative practices, behavior intervention strategies, and trauma-informed practices.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and families.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct SEL and behavioral intervention instruction to small groups of students.
  • Develop and facilitate lessons aligned to SEL competencies and student needs.
  • Monitor student engagement, participation, and progress.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with administrators and support staff regarding student needs and progress.
  • Review discipline and behavioral data to assist in student identification and intervention planning.
  • Complete required documentation and attendance records.

  • The number of days worked per week is dependent upon student enrollment and program participation.
  • The District reserves the right to adjust staffing levels, schedules, and assignments based on enrollment and program needs.
  • Additional pre-program work related to student data review may be required and will be communicated separately.
