QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5-10 years’ relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering (from an ABET-accredited university)
  • EIT certification required; PE license preferred
  • Strong technical and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills with a positive, team-oriented mindset and ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of single-family, multi-family, or commercial construction methods preferred
  • Advanced understanding of gravity and lateral design
  • Technical expertise in performing structural engineering calculations, both manually and with design software
  • Experience producing construction documents using AutoCAD or Revit preferred
  • Wood-frame design experience preferred, but not required
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with Project Managers and Staff Engineers designing and documenting houses, offices, apartments, or mixed-use buildings
  • Design gravity components including beams, columns, and footings
  • Design lateral systems including shear walls and moment frames
  • Review shop drawings
  • Conduct field work, including site visits and construction observation
