Description


The Village of Itasca Public Works Department is hiring several seasonal laborers


Approximately May 11 to August 14

40 hours / week 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday - Friday


Work duties include:

  • Landscaping: planting flowers, watering, weeding, mulching, plant care/trimming
  • Facility and grounds maintenance
  • Minor construction
  • Routine unskilled manual tasks
  • Use of simple tools
  • Lifting and carrying product 

Uniform:

  • Employer-provided t-shirts and personal protective equipment for tasks
  • Employee-provided steel-toed footwear and clean dark jeans/pants without holes/tears

The starting pay for this position is $17.00/hour

Requirements

The Summer Seasonal Laborer must be a good steward of Village resources, be trustworthy and be able to get along well with others. Candidates must be available for 2-3 weekend shifts (4 hours/day). Applicants must have good listening skills and the ability to complete assigned tasks. 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to work outdoors/all weather conditions 

Successful candidates must pass a drug/alcohol screen, background check and physical exam.
