Exercise Science Adjunct Faculty for Fall 2026 Semester - Continuous Applicant Pool

Reports to:
Dr. John Beck
Job Summary:
Uses technology-based instruction to sustain the specific courses and curricula mandated by the educational mission and goals of the College.
This is an in-person position at the Benton Harbor, Michigan campus, and the successful candidate must be available to teach between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
Essential Functions:
1. Instructs students in assigned classes.
2. Provides academic guidance and counseling to students in cooperation with Student Services Personnel.
3. Maintains academic standards.
4 Prepares course syllabus and outline.
5. Monitors student progress.
6. Keeps adequate and accurate records.
7. Enters final course grades online.
Other Duties:
Other duties as assigned.
Accountabilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Department Chair, each Adjunct faculty member is responsible for satisfying the educational, administrative, and fiscal requirements inherent in their position.
Job Specifications:
Master's degree in Exercise Science, Physiology, or Physical Therapy is required; a doctorate is preferred.
Applicants with a Master's degrees and 18 graduate credits in Exercise Science-related fields will also be considered.
Hiring Range:
$61 Per Contact Hour
Special Instructions to Applicants:
The Adjunct Instructor Pools are for applicants who are interested in teaching in the future as an (part-time) adjunct instructor for one of our departments. The Instructor Pools are always open for applications. However, this does not mean that we have an immediate opening in the division. The Adjunct Instructor Pools function as a way for department chairs to view applicant materials in advance of a need and determine if the applicant will be approved or not approved to be added to their pool of eligible applicants. Should a part-time instructional need arise in each department, the department chair will look first at the approved applicants to see if anyone matches our needs, in which case they may make contact to schedule an interview.
Adjunct faculty are not employed directly by Lake Michigan College, with a few exceptions based on MSPERS retirement program. All others are employed through Edustaff, LLC. If you are selected for one of these roles, you will be required to complete Edustaff's employment application and on-boarding processes.
