Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – School / Camp Health Nurse
Location: Chelsea, MA
Start Date: June 1, 2026
Contract Length: 8 Weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (35 hours/week)
Compensation: Up to $50/hour (based on experience)

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Registered Nurse (RN) to support a Summer Camp program. This role will ensure the health, safety, and well-being of campers and staff during the summer season. The RN will provide basic medical care, respond to minor injuries and illnesses, and maintain accurate health records in a dynamic, youth-focused environment.

Assignment Details
  • Camp Dates: July 6, 2026 – August 21, 2026
  • Pre-Camp Availability: Part-time hours available starting June 1, 2026
  • Required Dates: Must attend professional development days on June 24 and June 25, 2026
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site nursing care for campers and staff, including first aid and management of minor illnesses/injuries
  • Administer medications in accordance with physician orders and program policies
  • Maintain and update health records, incident reports, and medication logs
  • Monitor campers with chronic conditions (e.g., asthma, allergies) and respond to emergencies as needed
  • Collaborate with camp leadership to ensure a safe and healthy camp environment
  • Educate staff on basic health, safety, and hygiene practices
  • Ensure compliance with state and local health regulations
Qualifications
  • Active Massachusetts RN license
  • Previous experience in pediatrics, school nursing, or camp settings preferred
  • Strong assessment, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle emergency situations calmly
  • Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)

The School Registered Nurse oversees the application of the nursing process and the delivery of student care in a school setting. The School RN supports the physical, mental and emotional well-being of students within the school setting. The School RN plays an essential role in promoting the health and safety, responding to medical emergencies, managing chronic conditions and serving as a liaison between families, school staff and healthcare providers. The School RN provides services in accordance with Amergis’ philosophy, standards, policies and physician orders.  

Minimum Requirements:  

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred 
  • School Nurse Certification as required by state or contract
  • One year of school nursing, public health or pediatric experience, preferred  
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice  
  • Current CPR if applicable 
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable  
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)  
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements  
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
