How much do summer restaurant pos jobs pay per hour?

As of Jun 29, 2026, the average hourly pay for summer restaurant pos in the United States is $13.55, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $9.62 and $15.38 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What jobs pay 2000 a day?

In the context of a summer restaurant POS role, earning $2000 a day is highly unlikely, as such high daily wages are typically associated with specialized or high-level positions like executive chefs, restaurant owners, or consultants in the hospitality industry. Most restaurant POS jobs are entry-level or hourly positions with standard pay rates, and earning that amount would generally require additional factors such as tips, commissions, or owning a successful business. For high daily earnings, roles often involve significant experience, responsibility, or entrepreneurship beyond standard POS positions.

Do restaurants hire just for summer?

Summer restaurant positions are often seasonal, with many establishments hiring temporary staff to handle increased customer volume during peak months. These jobs typically require flexible schedules and may not require long-term commitments, making them popular for students or those seeking temporary work. Some restaurants also hire year-round staff for ongoing roles, but summer-specific positions are common in the industry.

What's the best POS for restaurants?

For a summer restaurant POS, popular options include Square, Toast, and Lightspeed, which are designed specifically for restaurant environments. These systems offer features like order management, payment processing, and inventory tracking, and often integrate with kitchen display systems. Choosing a reliable, user-friendly POS with good customer support is essential for efficient restaurant operations.

What is the highest paid position in a restaurant?

In a restaurant, the highest paid positions are typically executive roles such as the general manager or executive chef, who oversee operations and culinary staff. These roles often require extensive experience, leadership skills, and sometimes certifications, and they can earn significantly higher salaries than front-line staff like servers or cooks.

COMPANY DESCRIPTION
We're thrilled to introduce Marin, our newly renovated and re-concepted restaurant that's redefining the dining experience in Seattle. With a fresh name and a brand-new vision, Marin captures the essence of Seattle s unique environment where land meets sea. Our menu celebrates the flavors of the Pacific Northwest, with techniques and influences drawn from global seaside traditions, creating an experience that is both well-traveled and authentically local.
We're looking for passionate, creative individuals to help bring Marin to life. If you're ready to be part of something fresh and dynamic, and help us deliver an extraordinary guest experience, we'd love to have you on our team!
POSITION SUMMARY
As a Server, you'll be an advocate for our restaurant and a creator of ridiculously personal guest experiences. You'll bring energy, expertise, and genuine care to every table - serving food and beverages in a punctual, courteous, and accurate manner while building relationships that keep guests coming back.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Greet and welcome guests warmly, promptly attending to their needs from arrival to farewell.
  • Take and process guest orders accurately through our POS system.
  • Deliver food, beverages, and meal accompaniments with care and precision.
  • Provide wine service, including opening and presenting bottled wine.
  • Develop and maintain deep knowledge of our food, wine, and beverage menus.
  • Handle guest feedback graciously, escalating concerns to management when needed.
  • Support your teammates by keeping all areas clean, safe, and running smoothly.
  • Assist with table setting and bussing, to-go orders, seating, and phones as needed.
  • Attend all required trainings and meetings.
  • Pitch in where needed - we all wear many hats here at Kimpton.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Previous experience in a server or hospitality support role required.
  • Food Handler and Alcohol Awareness Certifications (where applicable).
  • The ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Strong menu knowledge - or the enthusiasm to learn it - including allergy awareness.
  • Comfort with restaurant POS systems and accurate cash and card handling.
  • Excellent communication skills and a natural ability to connect with people.
  • A genuine passion for crafting personalized, memorable guest experiences.
  • A motivated, flexible attitude and the initiative to go above and beyond.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

OUR CULTURE - What It's Like to Work Here
Refreshingly Human.
That's how we describe the Kimpton culture. Not a tagline - a way of being. It's what you'll feel the moment you walk through our doors, and it's what keeps our teams coming back.
Kimpton founder Bill Kimpton believed one thing above all else: hire the right people and get out of the way. From day one, this brand was built on empowerment - giving people the freedom to be creative, take chances, learn from mistakes, and do what's right. That vision sparked something special in 1981, and it still runs through everything we do across 80+ hotels worldwide.
If that sounds like the kind of place you've been looking for - read on.
Be 100% You
If you join us, you won't be asked to leave yourself at the door. Your quirks, your tattoos, your accent, your personal style - all of it is not just welcome here, it's celebrated. Being professional at Kimpton doesn't mean being a clone. It means showing up as your full, authentic self and doing the work with your own flair.
Be the Ultimate Host
At Kimpton, you'll be empowered to act. To be creative. To read the room, anticipate what a guest needs before they ask, and do what you truly believe is right - without waiting for permission. We hire people we trust, and then we trust the people we hire.
Spark Joy
Beyond great service lives something more lasting: emotional impact. Spark Joy is about the moments guests carry with them long after checkout - the ones that make Kimpton feel different from anywhere else. You'll have the power to create those moments every single day.
INCLUSION & BELONGING
A culture this special only works when everyone feels they belong in it. We're committed to building a workplace where every person feels seen, heard, and valued - and where differences aren't just accepted, they're what make us better. We proudly welcome candidates of all races, ethnicities, ages, religions, abilities, sexual orientations, gender identities, and backgrounds.
