The 2028 Games mark the return of the Summer Games to the U.S. for the first time in 32 years and Los Angeles' third time hosting an Olympic Games and first time welcoming the Paralympic Games. Senior Manager, Remote Screening Sites:

The Logisticsย functional areaย departmentย is responsible forย effectively and efficientlyย providingย logisticsย support to all LA28 functional areas. Theย Senior Manager, Remote Screeningย Sitesย willย be responsible forย coordinating with the LA28 Security Functional Area and relevant law enforcement entities onย Remote Screening Sitesย (RSS).ย ย This will includeย theย determination ofย appropriateย locations,ย designing the sites to meet demand,ย allocatingย resources effectively,ย developing project schedules,ย recruitingย and training staff,ย and overseeing the delivery and operation of the Remote Screening Sites.ย ย The role will also coordinateย with the LA28 Security functional areaย on other projectsย such asย theย Vendor Certification Program (VCP) and Material Transfer Area (MTA) operations at venues.ย ย ย 

Reporting to theย Head of Venue Logistics, the ideal candidateย willย play a critical role in the security ofย logisticsย operations forย theย LA28ย Olympic and Paralympic Games.ย 

Key Responsibilities:

Personnel Supervisionย 

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to the Remote Screening Site operationsย 
  • Assistย with the development and delivery of staff training programs, ensuring direct reports and staff areย equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge, and safety awarenessย 
  • Monitor staff performance and productivity, offering coaching, feedback,ย and development opportunities toย maintainย high standardsย across the RSS teamsย ย ย 
  • Support and foster aย positive, inclusive,ย andย high-performance team culture that reflects LA28's values and commitment to excellenceย 

Planningย 

  • Develop and track budgets for RSSย logisticsย operationsย 
  • Verify resource requirements (staff, equipment, services) for RSS locationsย ย 
  • Coordinateย and confirm resource responsibilitiesย with LA28 Security and NSSEย (National Security Special Event)ย ย 
  • Contributeย toย the drafting, refining, publishing, and distribution of theย Delivering to Venues Guideย 
  • Write relevant Logisticsย policies, procedures, and operating plans for Remote Screening Sites with input/review of LA28 Security and NSSE staffย 
  • Coordinate with LA28 Security and NSSE staff onย planning and delivering the Vendor Certification Programย - a program designed toย certify qualified vendorsย to deliver direct to venues based on meeting strict security guidelines and staff requirementsย 
  • Define with LA28 Security and NSSE staff the venue locationsย and operations for Material Transfer Areas (MTAs)ย 

Operationsย 

  • Oversee theย daily operationsย ofย RSSย locationsย during Games-timeย 
  • Monitorย RSSย activities across all sites using command center tools and dashboardsย to proactively address operational trends and disruptionsย 
  • Lead incident response and resolution for logistics-related issuesย at Remote Screening Sites, providingย timelyย updates to stakeholders and escalating as necessaryย 
  • Support the execution of contingency plans and emergency procedures, ensuringย logisticsย operations adapt quickly to changesย 
  • Participate in daily briefings, debriefings, and situation reports to communicate logistics status, risks, and recovery actionsย 
Background & Requirements:
  • 7+ย years of progressiveย logistics, security, and/or venue operations leadership experienceย 
  • Proven management abilities overseeingย workforce of 5+ direct reports and 25+ staff membersย 
  • Excellent analytical skills: ability to make decisions both independently and within a team environmentย 
  • Strongย technicalย skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)ย 
  • A team player with a strongย service focus and a desire to go the extra mileย 
  • Demonstrate ability in upward / downward communicationย ย 
  • Competence to present and clearly communicate to audiences in a multitude of public / private settings, asย requiredย 
  • Willing to work on complex, tight, immovable timelines whileย maintainingย a positive attitude,ย exhibitingย patience,ย persistenceย andย problem-solving skillsย 
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural, multi-national environmentย

Education:

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Expectation to work in LA28 offices in Los Angelesย ย 
  • Primarily office-based conditions with extended periods of sitting, working on a computer, and attending virtual or in-person meetings.ย 
  • Occasional travel to various venues, warehouses, or vendor meetings may beย required.ย 

The annual base salary range for this position is $105,000.00 - $126,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28's operational business needs and applicable law.
