JOB SUMMARY
The Swing Shift Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of ski area facilities during swing shift hours. Working after operational hours, this role ensures that lodges, restrooms, dining areas, rental shops, and other public spaces are thoroughly cleaned and ready for the next day's guests. Duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, restroom sanitation, and occasional snow/ice management at building entrances.
This position requires the ability to work independently, attention to detail, and physical stamina to perform tasks in a cold-weather environment. The ideal candidate is reliable, self-motivated, and takes pride in creating a clean and welcoming atmosphere for all resort visitors.
This is a part time (2-3 days per week), midweek position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Night Janitors are responsible for the overall cleanliness of our facility. This position works a swing shift to take advantage of the time that buildings are least occupied.
  • Engage and welcome all Crystal Mountain guests
  • Vacuum, sweep and mop all lodge floors and restrooms
  • Deep clean and stock restrooms
  • Transport trash and recycling to appropriate containers
  • Report any restroom or lodge maintenance to Facilities Manager
  • Shampoo carpets
  • Straighten tables and chairs

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be able to work in a team environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
  • This position is required to work nights, weekdays, weekends and holidays while in operation.
  • Ability to work "swing shift" hours from 2:30pm to 11pm
  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 40 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a mop, vacuum, and broom on a constant basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, pushing and pulling on an occasional basis.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
