Summer Learning Program Instructor Summer 2026
We are seeking passionate and energetic Summer Learning Program Instructors to join our team for the 2026 summer season! As a Summer Instructor for our STEM Summer Program, your primary role will be to create a fun, engaging, and meaningful summer experience for elementary students. We value relationship-building, social-emotional learning, and inspiring curiosity through hands-on STEM activities and collaborative learning experiences.
Position Details
- Program Dates: June 29 July 31, 2026 (5 weeks, excluding 3 holidays)
- Work Schedule: MondayFriday, 12:00 PM 4:00 PM
- Training Requirement: Minimum of 6 hours of paid training prior to program start
- Location: Seattle Public Elementary Schools (specific school assignments will be announced in June)
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging Summer Learning Enrichment activities for students in grades K5
- Facilitate hands-on STEM projects, science explorations, and math enrichment activities
- Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
- Encourage student participation, creativity, and teamwork through interactive instruction
- Maintain clear and effective communication with team members and program coordinators
- Follow all program policies and safety procedures
Qualifications
- Ability to work collaboratively and contribute positively to a team environment
- Strong communication and classroom facilitation skills
- Enthusiastic and confident working with elementary-aged students
- Patient, dependable, and passionate about supporting young learners
- Experience working with elementary-aged children is required
