About Driveline Softball
Driveline Softball is a data-driven softball player development organization, co-founded by OGX and Driveline Baseball. We harness the power of data and the science of human performance to continuously enhance training methodologies and equip the softball community with information that gives athletes data-empowered autonomy over their career trajectories. We work with athletes from youth through professional levels through assessments, individualized programming, biomechanics, and consulting partnerships with college programs. This role joins our growing team as we open our Scottsdale location in summer 2026. Scottsdale is one of our newest locations, with the right candidate helping shape the team
and culture from the ground up.
Role Overview
The Part-Time Pitching Coach supports in-gym athlete development at our Scottsdale location while learning and applying Driveline Softball's coaching philosophy, systems, and protocols. This role is ideal for a coach seeking hands-on experience in a high-performance environment while balancing other professional or academic commitments. The position focuses primarily on in-person coaching, with opportunities to expand into assessments, remote programming, and cross- department collaboration over time.
Key Responsibilities
  • Coach and supervise athlete training sessions in-gym
  • Manage multiple athletes on the floor simultaneously
  • Support pitching assessments and athlete debriefs
  • Assist with athlete onboarding and daily athlete management
  • Collaborate with pitching staff and other departments as needed
  • Participate in staff meetings and internal education opportunities
  • Contribute to Driveline Softball's coaching culture and training environment
Required Skills & Attributes
  • Strong understanding of pitching mechanics and general human movement
  • Ability to work with athletes across a wide age range (10-22+)
  • Strong communication skills and athlete engagement
  • Willingness to learn and apply data-informed coaching methods
  • Comfort working within structured systems and evolving protocols
  • Professional, reliable, and growth-oriented mindset
  • Experience in hitting, strength & conditioning, biomechanics, or sport science is a plus but not required
Physical Requirements
This role requires frequent physical activity, including standing, walking, demonstrating exercises, throwing and pitching movements, bending, stretching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and squatting.
Growth Opportunities
High-performing part-time coaches may be considered for expanded responsibilities, increased hours, or future full-time coaching roles as Driveline Softball grows. The Scottsdale location is one of our newest, with the chance to grow alongside it.
