Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, basic diagnostic tools, and potentially certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are often required. Both Summer Md and Summer DO are summer internship programs for pre-med students interested in medicine. The main difference lies in the degree: MD (Doctor of Medicine) versus DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine). While both roles involve clinical exposure and are used in similar healthcare settings, DOs emphasize a holistic approach and osteopathic manipulative treatment. Students should choose based on their interest in osteopathic principles or traditional allopathic medicine.
