Job description

Club SciKidz MD offers science and technology summer camps for children ages 4-15 years in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard, and Montgomery counties. We are hiring Lead Instructors to work at our Annapolis location. The Lead Instructor position is for folks at least 20 years old and have at least one year experience teaching and leading a group of children. Preference given to certified teachers, education majors, and other individuals in work in the education/day care fields.

Our Annapolis location camps run from June 15th-July 31st, and run Monday-Friday. Staff hours are approximately 8:30am-4pm with one after care shift per week. Pay starts at $575 a week and is dependent on your experience working with children and the fields of science & technology. Certified teachers start at $640 per week.

We are looking for folks who:

  • Must be at least 20 years old
  • Enjoy working with children
  • Have experience working with, teaching and leading a group of up to 18 children
  • Want to help campers have a great summer as they learn science & technology
  • Passionate about providing children with hands-on learning experiences
  • Are reliable & hard working; have reliable transportation
  • Can commit to work at least 4 weeks; preference given to applicants who can work all 6 weeks. If interested, additional weeks are available the last half of the summer at our Odenton location
  • Having [some] experience with technology is a plus, but NOT a requirement

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Supervising campers
  • Implementing provided lessons (all lessons, materials & supplies are provided)
  • Keeping kids engaged, while maintaining a safe environment
  • Have fun with what you are doing
  • Being on time every day for your required shifts (you are scheduled by the week, so you work a whole week (Monday-Friday) for the weeks you are scheduled
  • Working with other staff to provide an excellent camp experience
