Job description

Job Title: Precision Machinist - 3rd Shift
External Sign-On Bonus: $5,000

Job Summary
Wilson Tool is seeking a Precision Machinist to support our Specials milling and grinding cells within the Press Brake Division. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a cell of advanced milling and grinding machines to produce high-precision metal components.
Our machinists work in a highly technical environment where accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail are critical. You will be hands-on with state-of-the-art grinding technology capable of holding tolerances as tight as 0.0001 inches, producing high-quality parts with exceptional surface finishes and dimensional accuracy.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys precision work, problem-solving, and working with advanced manufacturing equipment in a clean, climate-controlled environment.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and adjust milling and grinding machines within a production cell
  • Inspect machines, fixtures, and tooling prior to operation
  • Load parts into fixtures and initiate machining processes
  • Set machine controls, programs, dials, and switches to meet job specifications
  • Monitor machine performance and make adjustments to ensure quality and precision
  • Inspect finished parts for accuracy, finish, and compliance with specifications
  • Move between machines within the cell as production needs require
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by maintaining efficient setups and workflow
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • 2-year Machine Tool Technology or Tool & Die degree preferred OR current 2nd-year student in a related program
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical ability
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, routings, and technical drawings
  • Basic understanding of G & M codes with ability to edit programs
  • Strong math skills including algebra and trigonometry
  • Ability to work across multiple machines in a cell-based environment
  • Experience with precision grinding equipment preferred

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Standing, walking, and physical activity throughout the shift
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities

  • Clean, modern, climate-controlled facility (air conditioned in summer)
  • High-precision manufacturing environment focused on quality and efficiency

Schedule & Compensation
  • Full-time, 3rd Shift: Sunday 11:00 PM - Friday 7:00 AM
  • Pay Range: $29.58 - $39.33 DOE
  • Shift Differential: $1.80/hour
  • $5,000 External Sign-On Bonus
