Position Description:

Coating Tech Slot Dies (CTSD) is a privately-owned precision die manufacturing company located in Eau Claire, WI. Our products serve customers throughout the world in the adhesives, aerospace, construction, energy, filtration, graphics, medical and optical film markets. We develop and build custom coating solutions for our customers with a heavy emphasis on precision and innovation in all the products that we make. 


Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Precision Manufacturing Technician. As a Precision Manufacturing Technician, you will perform a variety of tasks that include CNC Surface Grinder Operations, Lapping & Polishing, and Precision Machine Assembly. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter who is able to work independently on a list of tasks and be responsible for completing the required tasks in a timely manner but also appreciates the value of working together towards a shared goal. Precision Manufacturing Technicians work collaboratively to ensure all fabricated parts and assemblies are fabricated and assembled to company’s ambitious standards. 


General Job Duties:

  • CNC Surface Grinder Operation
  • Lapping 
  • Polish and deburr parts according to finish requirements 
  • Assembling manufactured assemblies based on drawings 
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and machines
  • Inspect fabricated and purchased parts for conformity to print dimensions
  • Receiving, taking inventory, pulling of parts for projects 
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop environment 
  • Ensure all timekeeping forms are up-to-date daily  
     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED
  • Capable of performing a variety of tasks under general supervision with a certain degree of creativity and latitude as required to accomplish the task 
  • Ability to interpret and follow mechanical drawing
  • Detail oriented with attention to precise dimensional and finish requirements
  • Knowledge of general quality inspection procedures and the ability to inspect part’s conformity to a print dimension
  • Commitment to quality in all tasks performed
  • Follow all safety precautions and use protective equipment as required
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and spend most of work shift standing


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Hands-on experience assembling precision machines, dies/molds, or specialized tooling.
  • Milling machine work experience, or posts.  G-code programming experience / awareness is preferred.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a manufacturing environment
  • Uses experience and judgment to independently plan, prioritize, and accomplish goals
  • Experience inspecting parts to high accuracy tolerance
  • Fluent with Microsoft Office Products including Outlook, Excel, and Word
