Pay:
  • Compensation: The pay for this position is pre-determined at $25.19 per hour. Compensation for this role has been determined based on required experience, education, certification, and training. All positions are eligible for additional incentives based on business performance.
  • 60 Day Raise: $0.50 pay increase after 60 days of employment
  • Quarterly Bonuses: Earn up to 7% per quarter based on safety, quality, and other metrics

About the Position
Under direct supervision, this position is responsible for supporting all areas of food packaging in a team-oriented, high-volume dry mix manufacturing company. Operate equipment and perform manual manipulation to transfer dry mix food product into a wide variety of boxes, bags and pouches. Typical duties include packing, hand stacking, counting, wrapping, and weighing of food product, as well as cleaning and operating machinery.
Essential Functions: Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time.
  • Prepare food packaging for product insert and shipping
  • Ensure product bags travel through packaging equipment
  • Manually place small food pouches on rapidly moving production line
  • Pack food products into cases
  • Manually stack product boxes and bags on pallets or conveyors
  • Operate material handling equipment to move and palletize products and packaging materials
  • Perform sanitation tasks both on equipment and general housekeeping to established time and quality standards
  • Clean the entire packaging line when needed, including scrubbing, mopping, sweeping, emptying trash, collecting for recycling, blowing down area
  • Operate packaging machinery safely
  • Use computer to access and print instructions, safety and other documentation
  • Accurately input data into production software
  • Consistently follow safety, quality, GMP and other company guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Work overtime as needed

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Mechanically inclined with good manual dexterity
  • Stand and walk on a cement floor for full work shift (8 or 12 hours)
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Climb ladder and stairs to access and clean equipment and vessels
  • Reach at or below shoulder height frequently; reach overhead occasionally
  • Frequently use repetitive motion to handle and grasp components on a moving production line
  • Demonstrated ability to correctly follow written and verbal instructions and Standard Operating Procedures and set-up sheets in English

  • Work with a Continuous Improvement focus in a team environment
  • Communicate effectively to identify and solve problems

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
As a member of the operations team, you will be exposed to a variety of physical demands that require you to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds), climb stairs, exert energy, bend, twist and squat, and use tools and equipment. Employees stand and walk on concrete while wearing steel-toed shoes, uniforms, hair nets, bump caps, gloves and safety glasses. The use of company-provided hearing protection is also required in stated areas. Work takes place in an indoor production environment that has a high level of food dust and limited climate control. Will enter confined spaces and work at above-floor heights on ladders and platforms.
